In 1942, at just 17 years of age, Don Julio González founded the iconic La Primavera distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. González devoted his life to creating a luxury tequila, pioneering techniques like individual agave harvesting at peak maturity and designing the iconic short, square bottle to be displayed on tables to inspire uninhibited camaraderie around the dinner table. His unwavering passion for quality led to the creation of the world's first luxury tequila, and his legacy continues through the brand's commitment to the original methods and the original location of the La Primavera distillery, which still houses production today.
We are delighed to welcome our hosts for the evening: Andres Grimaldo - Don Julio Ambassador, Southeast USA, and Elena Stelmach - Business Development Manager of Agave, Florida, for Coastal-Pacific Wines & Spirits. We will taste through five expressions of tequila from the Don Julio line, along with signature cocktails showcasing the versatility and quality of each spirit.
