Widely acclaimed in the international wine community, yet simultaneously unknown and overlooked by many consumers, South Africa has proven to be one of the most dynamic and astounding wine-producing regions in the world.
Following the abolishment of Apartheid in 1991, and the subsequent Constitution in 1996, winemakers across the region found new opportunities to introduce the global wine trade to the ethereal quality and dynamic complexity of varietal abundance and sub-regional (ward) specification. Today, South Africa is the eighth-largest wine producer in the world, and the sixth-largest exporter of wine. The heroes of this burgeoning wine production are Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, and Bordeaux varietals — primarily, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Join us on Wednesday, October 25th, as we discover and celebrate a collection of world-class producers across South Africa, and explore the differentiating factors that deem those varietals such a prominent piece of the winemaking legacy and future heritage of the region.
Tickets are $125 per person, excluding tax & gratuity. Reservations required.
